Lazada Malaysia Commission Adjustment 2026: What Marketplace and LazMall Sellers Should Do

Lazada Malaysia is adjusting commission rates for local Marketplace and LazMall sellers from 14 August 2026 at 12:00 am. The new rates vary by product category and are subject to 8% SST.

For many sellers, the change means a higher cost for each successful order. Now is the time to review your margins, product categories, channel pricing and campaign strategy.

Here is a simple breakdown of the changes and a practical checklist for Zetpy users.

What is changing on 14 August 2026?

Lazada’s commission follows an all-in-one structure. According to Lazada, the commission includes benefits such as campaign vouchers, Basic LazCoins and free shipping.

Lazada also states that the existing transaction fee remains unchanged and there is no separate campaign voucher fee to join campaigns.

The new commission rate applies to orders placed on or after 14 August 2026. Orders created before that date will use the previous rate.

Commission is charged on successfully delivered orders. If an order is returned, Lazada states that the commission will be refunded. For a partial return, the refund is based on the returned item.

New Lazada Marketplace commission rates

The following Marketplace rates are subject to 8% SST:

New Marketplace sellers continue to receive a commission exemption for their first 120 days on Lazada. Commission starts from day 121.

The exact rate depends on the product category. Sellers may check it under:

Lazada Seller Center > Seller Settings > Commission

for more info, please visit Lazada’s post here.

New LazMall commission rates

The following LazMall rates are subject to 8% SST:

LazMall Digital Goods remain within the same overall range. However, Lazada separately notes that the rates for Digital Goods under F&B and Beauty & Wellness will be updated from 15 August 2026.

Sellers in these categories should check the detailed commission page in Seller Center.

How Lazada calculates commission

Lazada calculates commission using the item price after deducting any seller-funded promotional discount.

Lazada-funded promotions or campaign offers are not deducted from the item price when the commission is calculated.

In simple terms:

Commission fee = (Item price − seller-funded discount) × applicable commission rate

The commission fee is then subject to 8% SST.

Sellers should use the final category rate displayed in Seller Center for their calculations.

What Zetpy users should do before the new rates begin

1. List all your active Lazada and LazMall SKUs

Start with a complete list of active products for every connected seller account.

Group the SKUs according to:

– Marketplace or LazMall account

– Product category

– Selling price

– Product cost

– Current commission rate

– New commission rate

– Current gross margin

– Expected margin after the adjustment

This gives your team a clear working list instead of checking products one by one.

2. Confirm the commission category for each important SKU

Do not rely only on the broad product-cluster ranges above. A product’s exact commission depends on its Lazada category.

Check Seller Center > Seller Settings > Commission, especially for:

– High-volume products

– Low-margin products

– Products with large seller-funded discounts

– Digital Goods under F&B or Beauty & Wellness

– Products recently moved to a different category

An incorrect category assumption can lead to an incorrect profit calculation.

3. Recalculate profit after commission and SST

Update your product costing sheet to include:

– New category-specific commission rate

– 8% SST on the commission fee

– Existing transaction fee

– Seller-funded vouchers and discounts

– Advertising spend

– Packaging costs

– Fulfilment costs

– Product cost

– Any accounting or tax treatment relevant to your business

Do not look at the commission increase alone. Calculate the expected net profit for each SKU after all relevant costs.

For example, if a product sells for RM100 and its commission rate is 20%, the basic commission would be RM20 before SST.

The SST on the commission would be:

RM20 × 8% = RM1.60

The total commission-related deduction would therefore be:

RM20 + RM1.60 = RM21.60

This example excludes transaction fees, advertising, seller vouchers, packaging, fulfilment and product costs.

4. Adjust your Lazada prices where needed

Zetpy allows sellers to set different prices for different sales channels.

This is useful when a Lazada or LazMall price needs to reflect the channel’s new cost structure without changing the price on Shopee, TikTok Shop, Shopify, WooCommerce or other connected channels.

Before changing prices, consider:

– Your target profit margin

– Customer demand

– Competitor prices

– Campaign eligibility

– Seller voucher requirements

– Shipping subsidies

– Product conversion rates

Avoid applying one price increase to every product.

Some products may need a price adjustment. Others may perform better with a smaller margin and a higher sales volume.

After updating prices through Zetpy, verify a sample of listings in Lazada Seller Center to confirm that the new values have synced correctly.

Check out how to Bulk Price Update in Zetpy’s Lazada Plugin here.

5. Check your Zetpy and Lazada account connections

Make sure every Lazada or LazMall seller account remains authorised in Zetpy.

An unauthorised connection can stop product, price and inventory syncing. It can also prevent new marketplace orders from being synced into Zetpy.

Complete your price adjustments early enough to check for connection or syncing errors before 14 August 2026.

6. Brief your finance and operations teams

Tell your finance team when the new rates begin and how to find the charges under:

Seller Center > Finance > My Income > Income Statement

Commission charges also appear in Zetpy’s order detail page for Completed order and Order Income Report.

7. Monitor the first statements after implementation

After the new rates take effect, compare several completed orders against your expected calculations.

Check orders from:

– Different product categories

– Different seller accounts

– Marketplace and LazMall stores

– Products with seller-funded discounts

– Products participating in campaigns

If the commission charged does not match the rate shown in Seller Center, contact Lazada Partner Support Center.

Prepare the following information:

– Order number

– Product category

– Item price

– Seller-funded discount

– Expected commission rate

– Actual commission charged

– Income statement details

How Zetpy helps sellers manage the change

Managing price and inventory changes becomes more difficult when you sell through several marketplaces, webstores and physical retail locations.

Zetpy gives sellers one place to manage products, channel-specific pricing, inventory and orders across multiple sales channels and seller accounts.

For this Lazada commission adjustment, Zetpy can help your team:

– Apply Lazada or LazMall-specific prices without changing other channels

– Manage products across multiple marketplace accounts

– Sync inventory when orders are received

– View and process Lazada and LazMall orders centrally

– Reduce repeated manual updates across different channels

– Support accounting integrations for cleaner order workflows

Zetpy does not decide your commission rate. Lazada controls the category and fee charged.

Always confirm the latest category-specific rate in Lazada Seller Center before finalising your prices.

Prepare your Lazada store before the deadline

The best response to a commission adjustment is not a rushed price increase.

Review the numbers SKU by SKU, protect the products that matter most and give your team enough time to verify every update.

If you manage several Lazada, LazMall and other marketplace accounts, Zetpy can help centralise your product, pricing, inventory and order operations.
